Staten Island, NY – The New York Road Runners’ Staten Island Half Marathon, begins in St. George at Bay Street and Slosson Terrace at 8 a.m. Sunday.
The final race of the NYRR’s Five Borough Series, the event is a prelude to next month’s New York City Marathon.
There will be various street closures in St. George, Fort Wadsworth, Arrochar, Rosebank, Midland Beach and South Beach between 2 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The following streets will be closed to all traffic at 2 a.m.:
- Richmond Terrace, from Stuyvesant Place to Bay Street, including the Staten Island Ferry Terminal
- Stuyvesant Place, from Hyatt Street to Bay Street
- Nick LaPorta Place, from Stuyvesant Place to Richmond Terrace
- Bay Street, from Nick LaPorta Place to Victory Boulevard
The following streets will be closed to all traffic at 7 a.m.:
- Richmond Terrace, from Jersey Street to Stuyvesant Place
- Bay Street, from Richmond Terrace to School Road
- Front Street, from Hannah Street to Edgewater Street
- Edgewater Street, from Front Street to Hylan Boulevard
- Hylan Boulevard, from Edgewater Street to Bay Street
- School Road, from Bay Street to Lily Pond Avenue
- Lily Pond Avenue, from School Road to Father Capodanno Boulevard
- McClean Avenue, from Lily Pond Avenue to Fort Wadsworth
- Father Capodanno Boulevard, from Lily Pond Avenue to Greeley Avenue
In addition, the Bay Street and Father Capodanno/Lily Pond exit ramps from the Staten Island-bound plaza at the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
BUS SERVICE
The following NYC Transit and MTA buses that serve the area will be affected by reroutes and customers should consider adding extra time for their trip: S42, S46, S48, S51, S52, S53, S61, S62, S74, S76 and S78.
