Ricardo Rossello Resign Memes

Puerto Rico has made it to the world stage many times throughout the years. For the most part it has been do to the contributions made by many of its artists from Ricky Martin to most recently Luis Fonsi with his off the charts hit “Despacito”.

Unfortunately, Puerto Rico has also been in the center of negative controversy as well. From bankruptcy to the worst disaster management in US history after the island was devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in a matter of days from each other.

As if that’s not enough, the island of Puerto Rico is making international news once again as a series of chat leaks compounded over FBI investigations has revealed that the governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, has been running an organization full of corruption, back door contracts and deals with public funds, insults to the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities and even went as far as making a mockery of the corpse of those who died as a consequence of the natural disasters.

Puerto Ricans around the world have taken to the streets demanding the resignation of Ricardo Rossello in large numbers that many now catalog as a revolution against the government. While protesters have been going on for many days, gathering the sympathy of artists and politicians of all over, yesterday’s demonstrations was by far the largest. It is estimated that more than a half a million people march to the capitol building in an island of just a few over 3 million residents. This without counting demonstrators that going from other parts of the world, including a take over of Columbus Circle in New York City.

BUT what do you think Ricardo Rossello’s response was? You might have guessed it, “I’m not resigning!” Rossello stated.
