On November 27, 2009, Columbia Pictures premiered on the big screen Welcome to Zombieland . A film, directed by Ruben Fleischer, that told the story of a group of survivors of the most diverse whose main mission is to reach a shelter located in Los Angeles (United States) to save themselves from a zombie apocalypse.
Although there were no great expectations set in this film, the comic dye of the film, together with the chemistry between the different characters, made it a successful film and even a cult classic for zombie movie lovers. However, the producers did not think about continuing the story… until now.
The band meets again
In May of last year, the scriptwriters of Welcome to Zombieland Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who in turn are the scriptwriters Deadpool 2 , recognized that they had finished the script of the second part of this successful film. Although Columbia Pictures did not comment on the matter, the scriptwriters announced that the project was very advanced.
After reaching an agreement with Columbia Pictures, the screenwriters reunited the original cast for the sequel. For that same reason, the film will once again star Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin. Also by Luke Wilson and Rosario Dawson, who join the cast of a film that will arrive in Spain on October 25.
The problems of the new world
In this new installment, which has already been named Zombieland: Double Tap , zombie hunters will travel to Washington, where they will have to face new kinds of zombies: “Zombie hunters travel from the White House to the heart of the United States, where they will have to defend themselves from new kinds of undead that have evolved.”
But the zombie apocalypse will not be the only problem that the film’s protagonists will have to deal with: “While they try to save the world, gang members will also have to learn to live together”. However, one thing is clear, humor will once again be one of the great protagonists of the film, as evidenced by the first images of Zombiland 2.
