New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and his longtime girlfriend, Food Network presenter Sandra Lee, announced their separation on Wednesday after more than a decade together.
“In the recent past, we have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has become a deep friendship,” the two said in a statement. “We will always be familiar and support each other and dedicate ourselves to girls. Our personal lives remain personal and there will be no more comments.”
The couple put up a house for sale in Westchester County in May, and Cuomo has lived mainly in Albany since then. At that time, Lee said they were selling the house because they no longer needed the space, and both denied having separated.
