We’re the city that never sleeps — not even on Christmas.
Looking for something to do besides watch “A Christmas Story” over and over? The Big Apple offers at least 12 days’ worth of options on Christmas Day.
If you want to enjoy some of the unseasonably warm weather, take a stroll through Bryant Park’s Winter Village or glide across the Midtown oasis’ ice-skating rink. There are also ice rinks at Central Park, Chelsea Piers and, of course, Rockefeller Plaza.
Head for Broadway, where the shows must go on — although with some changes in performance schedules. Lots of movie theaters are open, too.
Most museums will be closed, but the Prospect Park, Queens and Central Park zoos are open, as are the New York Aquarium at Coney Island and the Big Apple Circus at Lincoln Center.
You can play tourist by visiting the Empire State Building, Top of the Rock, One World Observatory or Madame Tussauds, all of which will be open.
Of course, there’s always Chinese takeout and a movie at home (and more “Christmas Story”). No New York sports teams are playing, anyway. (Nope, not even the Knicks this year.)
Shopping will be tough, though. Most stores will close early on Christmas Eve and remain shuttered through Christmas Day.
Here’s what else you can expect over the holidays:
