Controversial singers Billie Eilish and Lizzo were among the first artists to win a Grammy within the pre-event ceremony.
Billie Eilish and Lizzo achieved their goals of winning their first Grammy Awards on Sunday, January 26, including Tanya Tucker, J. Cole, Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus and the late rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Michelle Obama, Sara Bareilles, Rosalia and 21 Savage also became official winners of the 2020 Grammy when the show delivered trophies during their pre-broadcast ceremony in Los Angeles.

Finneas brother of Billie Eilish, who co-wrote, produced and designed his sister’s debut album, “When We All Fall sleep, Where Do We Go?”, Won the best designed album (not classic), best pop vocal album (shared with his sister) and non-classical producer of the year.
“My heart is beating very fast right now,” Finneas said. “This award belongs to my sister Billie for her trust and vision.”
The pre-broadcast ceremony, where most of the awards are delivered, began with a brief memory of NBA star Kobe Bryant, who lost his life earlier in the day in a helicopter that crashed in California.
Referring to the arena where Bryant played for the Los Angeles Lakers, the CEO of the Provisional Recording Academy Harvey Mason Jr. said: “Since we’re home, I would ask you to join me in a moment of silence.”
Alicia Keys is the host of the Grammys, which air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles starting at 8 pm Eastern time.
The show will be packed with performances by international celebrities, including Ariana Grande, BTS, Camila Cabello, Demi Lovato, Jonas Brothers, Rosalia, Aerosmith, Bonnie Raitt, Tyler, the creator, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, John Legend and Cyndi Lauper.
