Puerto Rico’s Violent Crimes is Daily Life

From gun blazing in broad day light in the streets, to carjackings at street lights, Puerto Rico has been suffering from a fast deterioration of public safety.  Clearly a reflection of people’s desperation to make ends meat, and the government’s inability to proportionately provide sufficient law enforcement to safe guard the communities.

Earlier today, a gang of criminals detached an ATM machine from the wall of the Puma gas station located on the PR-3 highway in Carolina, the Press Office of the Police Bureau reported.

Authorities were alerted to the robbery at about 4:30 am today, Wednesday, after the gang members who arrived at the gas station in a white Ford F-150 pickup and, after one of them aimed a gun at an employee, started backing down to hit the wall where the ATM was located. Then, they tied the machine with a steel cable and detached it from the wall.

The amount of money that the ATM contained, or to whom it belongs, is unknown. The pickup truck used for the theft is recorded as stolen in Trujillo Alto.

Agents assigned to the Criminal Investigation Body (CIC) of Carolina are in charge of the investigation.

The Police Bureau has indicated that it does not have statistics of assaults on gas stations or robberies of ATMs stations despite the fact that in recent months this type of crime has been proliferated.
