Congress Approves Resolution Against Anti-Semitism

The resolution to condemn anti-Semitism was approved by 407 votes in favor and 23 against in the House of Representatives. A previous resolution had to be modified after an intense debate among the Democrats themselves. Several young lawmakers of that party felt that the project was only aimed against anti-Semitism due to comments from representative Ilhan Omar about Israel, which were widely criticized. The text was expanded to include the denunciation against all kinds of intolerance, including intolerance against Muslims.
