Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday

After the long-awaited purchases of Black Friday and the massive consumerism that occurs between this day and Cyber Monday, today December 3, is Giving Tuesday.

Don’t you know it We explain it to you. Giving Tuesday is a global movement that wants to encourage and multiply people’s good deeds. The goal is to dedicate a day around the world, this year on December 3, to celebrate the action of giving, be it food, money, time (volunteering), second-hand objects, etc. Joining is very simple: you just need to make a better world, take a look at the causes of #GivingTuesday and decide what you will do or who you will give.

The idea of #GivingTuesday came from the non profit organization 92Y Street in New York, dedicated for more than 100 years to social works, and from the United Nations Foundation, which has contributed its experience in the strategy and dissemination of solidarity projects.

In 2012 the movement called #GivingTuesday (Tuesday to give) was created in New York as an alternative to the previous days, known as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which promote purchases before Christmas. In its first edition, thousands of organizations and people joined together to collaborate in solidarity actions.
