Taylor Swift is in full promotion of Miss Americana, a documentary about her life that will be broadcast on January 31 on Netflix and where the singer, 30, opens emotionally about the problems she has suffered throughout her life. In the film, which premiered this Thursday at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, Swift is sincere and reveals an eating disorder that suffered a few years ago, caused by being reflected in the images that the photographers made by the Street. “A photo of me was published in which I saw that my gut was too big … or someone said she looked pregnant … and that triggered her to stop eating,” confesses the interpreter.

A situation that greatly affected her health and her work, as the problem increased as one of his musical tours began. “I felt like I was going to pass out at the end of each concert, or in the middle of it,” says Swift in the documentary. “Now I have realized that if you eat you have energy, you become stronger, you can do all these concerts and you don’t feel bad,” she says.

The interpreter of hits like Shake it off or Me! Her recently talked about this disorder in an interview with Variety magazine, which is the cover of this month of January, and has confessed that he thought a lot about whether or not to tell his problem in the documentary: “I didn’t know if I was going to feel comfortable talking about my body and talking about the things I’ve been through in terms of ‘how unhealthy’ I’ve been with myself. ” Finally, Swift agreed to it and is happy with the final result thanks to the tone used by the director of the film, Lana Wilson. “The way Lana tells my story really makes sense. I am not an expert on this subject and many people will be able to speak with more knowledge. All I know is from my own experience, ”said the singer, who proudly shows her reconciliation with her own body:“ The fact that she has a size 6 instead of a 0. Now I eat and exercise a lot. I used to exercise but I didn’t eat. ”

In addition to his personal struggles, Swift has made more revelations on the occasion of the presentation of his documentary. Only a few days ago, the singer also told Variety that during the filming of her biographical film, her mother, who was receiving treatment for breast cancer for the second time, was detected with a brain tumor. “The symptoms experienced by a person suffering from a brain tumor have nothing to do with what she had faced with cancer before. Forces really hard for the family, ”explained the artist, who said she was very close to her father:“ Everyone loves their mother, but for me it is really the guiding force. Almost every decision I make, I talk to her before. That is why it is difficult to talk about her illness. ”

“It’s a year in which I have to be with my family. We do not know what will happen. We don’t know what treatment we are going to choose, ”said the singer, who this year will take her work more calmly and combine the tour of her latest album, Lover, with spending more time with her family. This was the first time that the Look What You Made Me Do interpreter talked about this new diagnosis of her mother, Andrea Finlay, although on other occasions she had already treated the subject of her illness. Almost a year ago, in March 2019, Swift said that her mother had relapsed from breast cancer and that she was under treatment again. “I have had to deal with important diseases in my family. My parents have had cancer and my mother is now fighting again. This situation has taught me that there are real problems and then there is everything else. My mother’s cancer is a real problem. The daily ups and downs made me nervous, but now they worry me, they stress me and I dedicate my prayers to the real problems, ”he said in statements to Elle.
