Cruella is here! The first poster for the live-action Disney film makes its debut as Emma Stone is seen in character as the villainous Cruella de Vil

The first poster for the Disney film Cruella was shared on Tuesday morning with a trailer to be released the following day.

Emma Stone can be seen as the title character Cruella de Vil from Disney’s 101 Dalmatians.

In the black-and-white image, the actress has her hair worn half black and half blonde as she has on heavy eye makeup and lipstick to slip into the role of the twisted villain.

The film is directed by Craig Gillespie and also stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham and Mark Strong in supporting roles. 

Glenn Close, who played Cruella in the 1996 live-action remake and its sequel, also serves as an executive producer.

The release date is scheduled for May 28, 2021 in the US.

The live-action film will be an origin story of the evil character and will likely show viewers what caused Cruella to become a villain obsessed with obtaining the hides of the dalmatians in the beloved story.

In July 2019 Paul Walter Hauser joined the cast of Cruella. The 32-year-old actor is best known for his roles in 2017 Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya and 2018 drama BlacKkKlansman.

He plays Horace, who is one of Cruella de Vil’s henchmen.  

Little else is known about the plot of upcoming film, which follows the life of a young Cruella, although it has been claimed that the project will have an 80s punk vibe. 

Alex Timbers was initially set to helm the project but was forced to walk away from the movie due to scheduling issues.

Cruella is being produced by Andrew Gunn, Marc Platt and Kristin Burr.
