Google Releases A Slice of Pie: The Android 9

Google’s Android Pie (Android P) was officially released on Monday, August 6th making this latest release the 9th update of their Android system and the 16th version of the Android operating system.  The Android P is currently available for all Google Pixel devices and Essential PH-1 phones. Coming this fall Google is expected to release the Android Pie Go Edition which is the follow-up edition to the Android Oreo. The Android Oreo first went on sale back in April with approximately 512MB of RAM available on most mobile devices. In addition, Google expects to release the full version of Android Pie to the OnePlus, Sony, Oppo, HMD/Nokia, and Essential devices included in their beta program.

Presently, Google hasn’t revealed if the estimated 200 Go edition phones already available will be getting the Android Pie update. In fact, Google has stated that a few over 100 manufacturers plan to release Go edition phones with Android Pie Go by the end of the year.
